Jon Buchanan is the executive chef of Third Coast Restaurant, located in the renowned Texas Medical Center, where he enjoys serving “Modern Houstonian” cuisine in one of the most unique restaurant settings in Houston.
Buchanan, an award-winning chef, received his credentials at the well-regarded Culinary Program at the Art Institute of Houston and honed his skills in some of the finest restaurants in the city, including famed Robert Del Grande’s Café Annie and the original Masraff’s on Post Oak Lane.
For the past 11 years, the native Texan was head of Trevisio, which was formerly housed in the Third Coast space. Chef Buchanan is no stranger to the operational inner-workings of a large restaurant and event space and is excited to unveil a delicious new menu in this upscale, collaborative dining atmosphere which will continue to fuel the future of the largest medical complex in the world.
When he’s not in the kitchen, Chef Buchanan teaches cooking classes at McGregor Elementary with Recipe for Success, a Houston non-profit that promotes healthy eating and teaches cooking skills to kids. He is an avid cyclist and enjoys grilling at home with family and friends.
